  While everyone agrees that recycling is the right thing to do, it can be a challenge at times.   We spoke with Rubbermaid’s Outdoor Refuse Manager Alissa Kubera, to find out more about what makes this product a must-have in every home or garage.
  IT SAVES SPACE
  “First of all, it has the ability to stack, which will save you space and allow you to separate your recyclables in one easy place,” says Kubera. By stacking one 14-Gallon unit for plastic, one for aluminum, one for glass and one for paper, you have all the storage you need for each category (Fourteen gallons per unit is the average limit for recycling service, says Kubera), while only taking up the floor space of one unit. Unlike stacking regular bins, however, he adds that, “I like that you can still access the bins at the bottom,” via their flaps.
  IT’S STURDY
  “Some recycling bins have broken very easily, not when I used them, but when the trash collector threw the empty bin back on the street,” notes Kubera.

They will also help reduce odor (especially if you keep the units clean and add a layer of baking soda before setting them out after emptying). Finally, adds Kubera, “you can label each flap with a Sharpie to identify which bin stores which recyclable,” to make sorting even easier.
